Snowing...noooooo!!!!

The week has just started and it is absolutely SNOWING..not good because i am scared i will fall and embarrass myself.
Anyway I received my HFRM result yesterday which I am very happy with as I was very concerned that my result was not going to be good.
I have made a ‘To do list’ because there is so much to do but I am losing count, I have set myself a target to complete all the tasks by the end of the week. Hopefully this target will be achieved.
Had a day out with friends today, really enjoyed myself but enough fun for the year 2010.

Week 10

There was no lecture this week for LPD, but were given the time to carry out the interviews. Me and my group have not yet prepared therefore we have scheduled to do the interview on Friday. Enough time for us to prepare by going over the questions and preparing the answers. I think it will be a lot of fun carrying out this task, looking forward to it.

The deadline for LPD is approaching and for the next three weeks my full attention on completing the portfolio to the best of my ability.  Luckily I have no other deadlines before Christmas.

Back to university...

Back to university after a long week off, therefore a lot of work to catch up on. I have made a start on Managing Contemporary Organisations assignment; it is a long one therefore a lot of hard work has to be put in to it.  Apart from that, I have not forgotten to enjoy myself. Met up with a friend who i have not seen for ages as she’s moved to London, had a good catch up over pizza which was a lot of fun.

Also had a busy weekend at work, as Christmas is approaching the shopping centres are busy with crazy shoppers.

Week 9....Interviews!!!!

LPD was quite interesting this week as we were given information on what is required of us to complete the interview filming task. In groups of 3, we have to interview each other by asking the set questions by Bob. It is going to feel a bit weird interviewing friends but I think this task will be a good experience for when we leave university, because for me interviews are what I find the most difficult in the process of getting a job.  Consequently I need as much experience now before going out in the big bad world of work.

LPD...

Hey, because I was ill on Monday I didn’t attend LPD. However I have checked WEB CT to see what the lecture was about and to make sure I have understood the task correctly I will also be asking my friend when I next see her. I will definitely be attending tomorrow. Up until now I am up to date with all my tasks, I think this is the only unit that I have done all the tasks on time..way before the deadline, the reason being I’m enjoying it quite a lot and also it is helping me in job searching.

Week 8....

I have not accomplished much this week, the reason being my illness. I went to university on Monday for a bit and felt really ill so went home. I have missed all my lectures this week so I have A LOT of catching up to do, something I did not need. Apart from that, the good news is it was Eid on Tuesday. Even though I was ill and didn’t participate in the celebrations as much as I wanted to, I did get a lot of presents and money. So once I am up to date with my work a long shopping day is to be planned.

Career talk

For LPD this week we had a guest speaker who was a previous student at the university. She is on a graduate scheme and told us all about her job, what her daily task are and also how she got on to the scheme. It was a good session because I have always been interested in graduate schemes but never knew how to go about it, How to apply for the scheme and what the interview process involved, but now I have a clear understanding. I am going to start looking in to graduate schemes and see what they are looking for.

Job hunting...

Hey….Just been to Nandos and had a tasteful meal with friends.
I am back to university from reading week, definitely needed it to catch up with the work. I’ve made a start on HFRM assignment, which is due in two weeks, shouldn’t take long to finish as I know what to do just need to sit down and do it. This week is the week where I am going to start searching for jobs. And the first step is sorting out my CV..I already have one but need to make some changes to it. So I will be paying the careers office a visit.

Jobs!!!!

Its reading week, therefore no lecture for Learning professional development but I am going to use this week to get up to date with the tasks, shouldn’t take long as majority of them I have completed.
I really enjoyed doing task 3 as I now have a clear perspective of the type of job i am interested in. I’ve always been interested in a few jobs but never got round to researching those, finding out what experiences and qualifications they require and what the job entitled of. However now there is 2/3 jobs that I would love to pursue in the future.

Reading week..

Reading week is here, like all lecturers say it is not a week off from university but a week to catch up with work and that is exactly what I intend to do. I also need to make a start on other unit assignments.  Apart from that I am and will enjoy waking up late in the morning.
Last week I attended a charity event that was put together by a group of students to raise money for orphans all over the world, that was a lot of fun and I heard a lot of money was raised.  It felt good to be part of it and raise money..
