Week 5....

Not long for LPD portfolio deadline.. I am not as worried because completed majority of the tasks.

Week 5, is about goal setting and action planning. For this task, I am going to set myself some realistic goals that I would like to achieve maybe by the end of university year and different approaches that I could use to meet them. My aim is to finish this task by end of this week if not, end of reading week.

Apart from that do not have much to say abut LPD...I am on top of everything and organised for the first time.

Freezing!!

Oh my gosh…it is FREEZING!!! Just had a media law lecture in a massive lecture hall and it was freezing.  Apart from that, I have a load of assignments to do, Media law and Human financial resources management. So making a start on them and going to carry them on to reading week. HFRM assignments looks quite easy, have to write up a personal specification and an interview schedule for a job, I think it will be fun to do not like the usual boring assignments.

Also meeting up with a friend today at pizza hut…cannot wait for cookie dough!

Decision making.....

Well no lecture for learning professional development this week however bob has given us some work to complete about decision-making. I have to find out what my decision making style is, this will be quite useful because I am awful at making decisions and take forever.

Apart from that, have to blog every week, which is what I am doing at this moment of time. Never done anything like this before but that is what university is about..trying new things with new people. Exciting!!!

A bit behind on my tasks for lpd because I have had other stuff but will catch up on reading week.

DEADLINE!!!!!

Deadline for research for proposal is tomorrow…but I am not worried because I have nearly finished, just have bits and bobs left.  I have put a lot of time and effort in to the proposal so hopefully I will get high marks. Apart from that, I have had the cold however nothing that will stop me from doing my work.

Got another assignment this week, there is some time before the deadline so nothing to be worried about.

So much to do but so little time…now I know what lecturers mean when they say third year is the most stressful.

Lpd

Week 3 into LPD unit and made a start on the portfolio, really enjoying it. Met Jonathon two weeks ago and got a better understanding on what degree level I finished last year and what I need to do to achieve my desired degree.

Also had a careers talk on week 2, which was very helpful, because I was quite confused and frightened as I had no idea what I wanted to do after university and the options that are available. So my next step is to book an appointment with MMU careers councillors and start searching for a job.

My life at university

Hi, it is the third week of uni and finally settling back in after four fun months’ holidays. Even though it is middle of October the weather has been good, sunny but a bit chilly.  

Had a quick catch up with university friends, had a lot to gossip about. But that is enough fun for now because need to concentrate on studies.

I’m doing a project for final year which I am quite excited about, as I have picked a very interesting topic. It is about women working in technical jobs and I will be researching and getting an insight of women’s experience in these roles.

I’ll keep you updated....bye for now...x
